AWI Change Makers Episode 3: Ram performance management, has just been released. The focus of the series continues on sheep reproduction, having covered lambing mob size and weaning management in Episode 1 and 2.
It pays to check your ram team is fit and healthy in the lead up to joining – preferably 12 weeks before you want to put the rams out. Rams are high performance animals that work hard over the joining period and are the primary drivers of genetic improvement in a flock. It’s important that your ram team is in peak physical condition and at peak sperm production for joining to have every opportunity to pass on their genes and help you achieve your joining goals.
