Back to Business

Livestock SA is coordinating the MLA Bushfire Back to Business program in South Australia. Producers in fire-affected regions can access up to three free one-on-one-sessions with a farm management consultant to help put their business back on track. A farm management consultant is an experienced consultant that specialises in farm business management with in-depth understanding of livestock farming systems from an integrated technical and financial perspective. If the farm management consultant, in consultation with the bushfire affected producer, identifies the need to engage a consultant with specialist technical expertise (agronomy, production) then one or more subsequent sessions will be conducted by a suitable or nominated specialist.

Producer Eligibility

To be eligible, producers must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a red meat producer (cattle, sheep, goat)
  • Be situated in fire affected regions as determined by postcode
  • Be able to demonstrate that you have been affected by bushfires during 2019/2020. This equates to loss of pasture, loss of infrastructure or loss or livestock.

An online form has been set up to simplify the registration process and to collect some information to allow us to assist you in as efficiently and effectively as possible. Access the online form.

Once you have met the criteria you will be contacted by us and we will match you with a qualified and experienced local farm consultant who specializes in farm business management and understands livestock farming systems.
